 Mari Bincang Pasal Business |

Since thread nih open takde cakap pasal bincang pasal barang RO je... aku just open thread nih untuk orang yang kaki business atau minat business.
Bagi pelajar ekonomi dan kewangan... siapa leh terangkan kepada aku apa maksud Intrinsic Value?
Aku taknak jawapan yang dikutip dari wikipedia sebab tu aku pun boleh buat... cuma aku nak apa yang korang faham dari maksud perkataan yang selalu digunakan oleh Warren Buffett tuh.
So, bagi yang kaki business... apa plan korang seterusnya?

Nak kata business semua down tak juga. Unless you invest on papers investment such as bond, stock and mutual fund

Intrinsic value?
ok...dalam bidang training aku rasa sama jek maksud dia..perkataan ni bos aku selalu ckp masa sesi motivation
masa sesi ni...dia akan suruh participant senarai kan "10 perkara yg memotivasikan anda"
antaranya
1- duit
2- cuti banyak
3- pack on the back...
4- bla bla bla bla
kalo ko hayati dari ape yg diorg senarai kan tu...
semuanya adalah kuasa luaran....
"Extrinsic Factor".....
jadi kalo korang depends korang nyer motivasi pada Extrinsic factor....korang tak kan pegi kemana mana....
tapi kalo korang depends motivasi pada "Intrinsic value".....korang akan berjaya....
cth intrinsic factor -
1) Kerja sebagai satu cabaran
2- kepuasan diri
3) bla blab lab la
kalo tak paham gak boleh YM aku...tq

Oh ni benda baru aku dapat belajar. Aku rasa ni dari sudut self-help... motivasi kan diri. Apa yang aku tahu selama ni hanya Intrinsic Value dalam finance 
Bagus Normeck... at least aku belajar satu yang baru. Hmm, by the way... Mek... ko memang nak kerja sampai bila-bila ke? Or ko nak juga ada business dan jadi taukeh?

Warren Buffett never mentioned how he calculates IV (intrinsic value) of a business or a company.
From what I read on books of Mary Buffett & Robert G. Hagstrom, it seems like he determines a business value with comparison to long term municipal notes yield, or in Malaysia, something like CAGAMAS or govenrment long term bond yield (about 5~6% at the moment).
The simplest way is just to divide the latest annual earning by the said yield, that is IV in a nutshell. e.g. if RHBCAP's earning was RM0.35 per share in 2007, you divide it by 6% (CAGAMAS yield), which gives you RHBCAP IV of RM6.00; compared to its current price of around RM3.90, it gives you about 35% of safety margin.
Another way is more conservative, which was shown in Hagstrom's book, which comprises of 2 steps calculation. Besides, his thinking is more akin to that of Buffett's, and he likes to use yield rate of 10% to make conservative calculation. With this way, RHBCAP IV is about RM5.30, margin of safety about 26%.
Labyrinth Fund uses Hagstrom's 2 step calculation. It's safer and gives investment of members more upside potential.
During a bad economic time, Mary's way is sufficient to make a quick check on whether a company is worth buying. That is, after you have researched all other important figures, such as ROE, owner's earnings, etc.
